SYNOPSIS
A knight at the museum
You can’t get more average than Lance; in the middle set for literacy, pretty rubbish at sports, and his passion for things medieval hardly raises his status particularly when, at one a trip to the local museum, Lance reveals the famous painting on display is fake, the museum goes into “lock-down” but Lance leads his friends to catch the culprit. As they journey through the museum, resolving riddles and dodging danger, eight very different classmates face their fears, learn about themselves, and discover that they may be ready for secondary school after all.
HISTORY
Putting it Together
The show had its first outing on stage on the set of Dreamworks in Los Angeles where Marc & the show were selected as part of the Stephen Schwartz/Dreamworks (ASCAP) Workshop in 2015.
Several school productions were licensed in the UK and after much re-writing, with the wonderful mentorship from BML (Book, Music & Lyrics), it was produced virtually in 2020 by KOTA productions in U.S.
STAGING
Cast etc.
The show was originally written to be performed by young people but the U.S. Virtual Premiere used adults as the adult roles and kids as the kids roles and it worked wonderfully. So it can be staged either way!
The show has a full set of backing tracks - no need for a band.
There are 16 named parts and an ensemble.
